Magazine & Book day.....
Just a quicky on some new books and magazines I've picked up lately. Firstly, I went to my favourite underground, second hand bookstore in all of Canberra and picked up a few little treasure for next to nothing. The name of the store is Beyond Q Bookstore and it is where the old St Vinnies in Curtin once was and opposite one of my favourite Indian restaurants. There are shelves upon shelves of books, many first editions, millions of Penguin classics, old records, a children's section, South Pacific Island section. The also sell bilums from Papua New Guinea and have some great jewelery too. Oh, the list is endless! Anyway, I picked up an old copy of The Phantom of The Opera, Gilead (which my friend sandy recommended - thanks Sandy!), Moby Dick and a super cute book for children called 'The Perfect Gift'. It's a super duper lovely story with great illustrations and was written by a couple called Gillie & Marc Schattner. On the back cover it says "Husband and wife Marc and Gillie Schattner are artists, writers, lovers of life and true believers that everyone can find the perfect gift." Cool yeah?! Anyway, it's great, I think you'll enjoy it as much as the kiddlie winks. Ok, next I went to look fro a new magazine and found that Frankie Magazine have a little cook book of Sweet Treats out at the moment. it has the most scrumptious treats in it. My picks for the yummiest are the Candy Hearts and the Musk Sticks because they remind me of being a kid. This edition of Frankie is definitely worth it and it has some space at the back to pop your own treat recipes in. Yummo! Hmmm, maybe that wasn't such a quick post - sorry!
